Week 16 – 24/04/2011

Lugoj resultat keno jeudi soir What a great week. The sun has been out all week and it has been very warm.
The Blue Tit now has 9 eggs and is incubating them nicely. Already got some great CCTV footage.
On Friday we went back up Pen-y-lan where we were treated to lovely views of a Whitethroat. We also saw a Lesser Whitethroat (a lifer) and heard a Garden Warbler. As we were searching the hedgerows for the Lesser a Tree Pipit landed in the trees! Lots of Orange tips out too.
Then on Saturday we went on the early morning Landrover Safari at Slimbridge. Out on the reserve the reeds were alive with Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler. What a noise, all very vocal, and just occasionally… a Cetti’s. Skylark we abound and one perched on a fence post and posed beautifully for photos. On the meadows there were displaying Redshank, Lapwing and hiding away a Little Ringed Plover. The trees very full of Blackcap, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat and Chiffchaff. Although missed the Grasshopper Warbler and Common Tern that were there.
At home, later that afternoon, 3 large red damselflies were flying around the pond and laying eggs.
Tonight I put out the moth trap for the first time this year, one Brimstone Moth and a Cockchafer.
